Chester Zoo School Trip

On Wednesday 24th April all the children, staff and governors visited Chester Zoo as part of a whole school conservation project to promote the use of sustainable palm oil.

Our trip to the zoo provided the children with the opportunity to find out more about several species that are endangered due to habitat loss in Borneo and Sumatra.   During the summer term each class will be learning across the curriculum about the impact of the expanding unsustainable palm oil industry.  Each class will study in detail a particular species whose survival is threatened by the destruction of rain forests in order to manufacture palm oil which can be found in 50% of our supermarket products.

Each class will then present their work in an exhibition in June.
