Remembrance Day

On 11th November Year 6 pupils joined Father Michael of St Laurence Church and members of the Royal British Legion at a special Remembrance Service at the Frodsham Monument.  Our very own Frodsham Junior Mayors laid a wreath at the Commemorative Service.

I really enjoyed visiting the monument and listening to the service.” Emily
“I enjoyed going up there because it was a big experience.” Louis

Back in school, children in KS2 commemorated 100 years since the Battle of the Somme using Everyman Remembered, the children all found the name of a soldier who died during this horrific battle.  During the service the children wrote the name of the fallen soldiers on a poppy and as they placed the poppy on the ground, they read out the soldier’s name.  In total we remembered 91 if they 419,654 casualties.
